Kambô Medicine

Sacred Wisdom from the Amazon

Far beyond trends or treatments, Kambô is a sacred ritual rooted in the forests of the Amazon and passed down through generations of Indigenous wisdom keepers. It is not just a tool for healing, but a ceremonial path, one that invites deep listening, courageous release, and reconnection with the spirit of nature itself.

In a world that often pulls us out of rhythm with our bodies, Kambô offers a way to return, to center, to clarity, to truth. It is a practice of purification, not only of the physical body, but of the emotional, energetic, and spiritual layers we carry.

To sit with this medicine is to honor the ancient, while stepping bravely into your own healing journey, one breath, one beat, one purge at a time.

What is Kambô

Kambô is the secretion of the Giant Green Monkey Tree Frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor), used for centuries in Indigenous Amazonian ceremonies for purification, spiritual protection, and energetic alignment. While often referred to as a “medicine” in its cultural context, it is not a pharmaceutical drug or clinical therapy. Those who serve Kambô are ceremonial practitioners, not doctors, and the practice is rooted in deep spiritual tradition, not Western medical systems.

Among various tribes, Kambô is traditionally used to clear panema, a term that refers to heavy, dense, or negative energy that clouds the spirit and body. It is also known for its role in “hunting magic,” where it’s believed to sharpen the senses, increase stamina and strength, and temporarily mask human scent, allowing hunters to move more fluidly with nature.

Beyond energetic use, Kambô has been applied in tribal settings to support the body through fevers, infections, snake bites, malaria, fertility challenges, and physical pain. It is revered as a powerful purifier that strengthens both the body and the soul.

How Can Kambô Support You?

Kambô is a powerful ally for clearing stagnant energy, reconnecting with your inner strength, and restoring vitality on all levels, physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Traditionally used by Indigenous tribes for hunting preparation, energy clearing, and spiritual protection, it continues to be a deeply supportive tool for those navigating modern-day challenges.

Many who sit with Kambô report emotional breakthroughs, a release of trauma, mental clarity, and an increased sense of grounded presence. On a physical level, the secretion contains a complex cocktail of bioactive peptides that may support immune function, reduce inflammation, and help the body detoxify.

Kambô is often used in ceremony to support those moving through depression, anxiety, chronic fatigue, and most powerfully-opiate, drug, and alcohol addiction. It can also aid in resetting the nervous system, improving stress resilience, and supporting the process of weaning off pharmaceuticals such as antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications.

Sitting with Kambô

Kambô is traditionally applied through small burn points, known as gates, that are created on the skin to allow the medicine to enter the lymphatic system. In the ways taught by the Matsés Tribe, these gates are often placed on the upper left arm or lower right leg, depending on the intention and energy flow being honored.

In ceremonial practice, the medicine can also be applied to energetic channels such as meridian points, chakras, or auricular points (ears), allowing for more targeted or intentional work. Once applied, the secretion is quickly absorbed into the body, initiating a purgative process that may include sweating, nausea, vomiting, or bowel movements.

This purge is not viewed as illness, but as a sacred release of panema, a term used by many Amazonian tribes to describe stuck, heavy, or blocked energy that clouds the body, heart, and mind.

Each ceremony is supported by additional sacred tools such as Sananga, Rapé, Reiki, and sound healing to deepen the experience and guide integration. After the purge, many report feeling lighter, clearer, more present, and deeply connected to themselves and Spirit.

  • Basic Sit Treatment

    Foundational Private Kambô Ceremony

Every journey begins with a first step. The Basic Sit is a powerful initiation into the healing potential of Kambô for those new to this sacred medicine. You’ll feel its energy and explore whether a deeper connection with the frog aligns with your path. Applied traditionally in the way of the Matsés Tribe, points are placed on the upper left arm or lower right leg to guide energy and honor ancient wisdom. Whether you're curious or feeling the call, this sit offers a safe and sacred place to begin.

  • Layered Sit Treatment

    Intentional, Slowed-Down Kambô Application

The Layered Sit offers a slower approach to Kambô, ideal for those in recovery from illness, with heightened sensitivity, or feeling anxious. Rather than applying all points at once, the medicine is given gradually, allowing the body to meet it in waves. This creates space for awareness and deep listening. While the experience may differ from a basic sit, it’s not necessarily lighter, just more accessible. A supportive option for newcomers or those needing a gentler pace.

  • Group Ceremony

Small Group Kambô Sit (more than 4 Participants)

Group ceremonies offer the power of Kambô in a shared, supportive space while still honoring your personal journey. With four or more participants, there’s space for connection, reflection, and collective healing. The medicine is applied traditionally, following Matsés wisdom, and may be offered as a Basic, Layered, or targeted sit depending on your experience. A beautiful way to begin or deepen your work with Kambô in community.

Throughout the protocol, I offer continued support and integration guidance via text or WhatsApp, holding a safe and compassionate container as your journey unfolds.
